UPDATED: Cowes RNLI lifeboat and Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team are conducting a search on the north coast of the Isle of Wight this afternoon (Thursday).
Solent Coastguard requested the launch of Cowes’ B-Class lifeboat at around 11:10 following reports of a semi-sunken vessel near Osborne Bay.
Volunteer crew members are currently conducting a search between Gurnard and Wootton as it is unclear if any persons are missing.
The vessel is at anchor.
HM Coastguard officers are beginning a shoreline search from the beach at Osborne House.
UPDATE – The search has now concluded with both Cowes RNLI and Bembridge CRT stood down.
