Police have spent more than 5 days searching a flat in Ryde as part of an ongoing investigation into the unexplained death of a 45-year-old man.
As first reported by Island Echo, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has maintained an around-the-clock presence outside a flat on the upper section of the High Street since Thursday morning.
It was confirmed by Police at the weekend that concerns have been raised about a death earlier in the month of February.
The individual – only identified as being a 45-year-old male – died at St Mary’s Hospital on 4th February, with the concerns raised with authorities during the early hours of Thursday 27th February – more than 3 weeks later.
Police are remaining tight-lipped about the matter, but have confirmed that searches are ongoing at the address.
Island Echo is told that the flat was emptied by family members with rubbish disposed of.
The death is still being treated as unexplained.
The man’s family has been informed.
