Police, paramedics and firefighters are all in attendance at a single vehicle collision in Knighton this evening (Wednesday), where a car has rolled onto its side.
The incident has occurred on Knighton Lane by the triangular junction with Langbridge and Mersley Lane.
The Skoda Fabia appears to have collided with a bank before overturning.
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service has an ambulance crew and operational commander on scene, with Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service mobilising appliances from Newport and Ryde, including the Response Support Unit.
No serious injuries are thought to have been sustained.
The road is currently blocked from both The Downs and The Garlic Farm, meaning a lengthy diversion for motorists heading north or south through Newchurch.
UPDATE – The road has now re-opened.
1 person has been treated for minor injuries. It has been confirmed they were able to free themselves from the wreckage ahead of the arrival of fire crews.

That’s so unusual we don’t normally see many road traffic accidents on the Isle of Wight.
Phew, for one moment I thought we were going to have a day with no upside down cars.
Back to normal now.
Someone get that fireman a step ladder!
I think that person is female….
I walked past the Skoda dealer at Westridge earlier and I nearly
rolled over when I saw a Skoda for sale for £39,995.00
It was only a few years ago when Skoda’s were £3,995.00
They use to double their value when filled with fuel
Lol
That was before VW bought them.
That was before they were bought by VW.
First Skoda to roll over
Yes but it is not in a field
speed speed speed
phone phone phone
Not speed. If it was it would have been in a right mess. Go onto youTube. Lots of videos of cars rolling over at walking speed. Phone maybe.
Miss banks to stay upright
Must be one of the few banks left on the Island
And another one bites the dust
