Firefighters are once again reminding Islanders to refrain from lighting fires in the countryside following yet another fire in the open in the West Wight.
1 appliance from Freshwater was mobilised to the cycle path between The Causeway and Yarmouth earlier this afternoon (Tuesday) when a member of the public reported the situation.
A campfire had to be extinguished.
It comes just 24 hours after a disposable BBQ sparked a call out for the same retained fire crew in Totland, as previously reported by Island Echo.
Islanders are being asked to respect our beautiful Island.

They were probably bored because of covid…the goverment should do more…that was sarcasim by the way.
Probably the same idiots who did it yesterday.
Asked to respect?..respect doesn’t exist anymore, unfortunately, some people have no idea what the word respect actually means..
We now have an extremely liberal far left culture that would take decades to reform, this sort of behaviour will continue along with the lack of fear of the law..
Yey,good for you, what time is Himmler coming around for tea?
You should know…..
