Another Island primary school requires improvement according to school inspectors Ofsted.
Following a visit to Brading CE Primary School last month, Ofsted have judged that improvement is needed in the quality of teaching, the school’s leadership and management and the achievement, behaviour and safety of pupils.
In a report published today (Wednesday), it has been revealed that pupil’s English and Maths skills are not up to standard and that teaching is not consistently good. In addition, too many days of school are being missed by pupils.
The school must now look to increase the effectiveness of leadership and management and increase the quality of teaching, as recommended by the inspectors.
Meanwhile, St Helen’s Primary School in the neighbouring rural village of St Helens has been rated as ‘good’ by Ofsted.
