UPDATED: Thousands of homes and businesses across the Isle of Wight are experiencing intermittent power supply issues this evening (Thursday).
Island Echo readers from Ryde in the East to Freshwater in the West are reporting multiple occurrences of losing power for short periods at a time.
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) are reporting a fault in the West Wight which is said to be affecting 85 postcodes in the PO30 4 and PO41 0 areas. However, properties outside of these postcodes are noticing problems also.
Engineers are aware of the ongoing issue and power is expected to be back to normal by 22:30.
UPDATE @ 22:41 – Islanders are continuing to experience slight dips in power in all areas of the Isle of Wight tonight.
SSEN say that power should be restored and back to normal by 01:30.
