Police on the Isle of Wight are appealing for witnesses to a sexual assault during which a woman in her 20s was inappropriately touched whilst travelling on a bus.
The incident happened on the Route 3 bus, between Ventnor and Shanklin, on the afternoon of Thursday 20th April.
A woman in her 20s was sat at the back of the bus and was joined by 2 men she did not know. Then, 1 of the men – described as white with tanned skin, around 6ft tall, aged in his 40s with black hair and a black jacket – made inappropriate comments to the woman and touched her over her clothing.
As part of ongoing enquiries, officers would like to hear from anyone who was on the bus that afternoon between 14:00 and 15:00. They are keen to identify the 2 men pictured, who may have valuable information.

UPDATE WEDNESDAY – Police have now identified both of the men in the CCTV images following yesterday’s appeal, and both are assisting with their enquiries.
A 47-year-old man from Sandown has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault as part of this investigation.
He has been bailed with conditions until 25th July while Police continue to progress enquiries into the incident.
Can’t a woman go about her business on a public method of transport without being sexually accosted by two sexually inferior pieces of scum!!!!!!!!

My thoughts exactly, unless of course they opened the cans on the bus. If they were tanked up to begin with which is highly likely, they shouldn’t have been allowed on anyway.

around five years back my niece was a driver for southern vectis.she said the company never backs its drivers if they take a stand against antisocial behaviour.always backs the passenger no matter what.even lowlife scumbags like this.she left the company due to the abuse and sexual harrasment she herself had to suffer whilst just trying to do her job.
When found and identified and if convicted/found guilty should have all benefits withdrawn plus severe community service and a public transport ban.

We’ve got so many things wrong with our punishment system. These two are of the opinion they can do what they want, when they want, to whoever they want. They should be named, life size photos of them posted in every town on the island, and jailed for a significant period to include heavy work and hard labour. They should be banned for life from using any public transport so they can never leave the island again and put on a sex offenders register for life. I don’t care if they are drunks that’s no excuse. If they are repeat offenders, surgically remove both hands. I know Iran is crackpot crazy, but they dish out appropriate punishments for offenders like this. Utter scum. Well done to the poor victim for speaking out.

I remember taking a bus once and there were rumours that trouble was due as a couple of rival youths were onboard. Mick Poole who was their GM at the time took it upon himself to board the bus. No trouble what so ever! Mick was a hard man in his day.
