Police moved in on an address in Cowes yesterday lunchtime (Monday) in a bid to locate and arrest a man wanted in connection with an assault.
At around 11:50, a large number of officers rendezvoused in a car park before relocating to nearby Love Lane, where they were targeting a residential property as part of an ongoing investigation.
32-year-old Rhys Patrick Davies was arrested at the scene and has since been charged with common assault. This relates to an incident on Fellows Road, Cowes on 9th March.
Davies has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court this morning (Tuesday).

























































































Every other story on here lately is about assault or drugs. Why so many? It’s definitely getting worse on the Island.
Because they have abolished The Bobby on The Beat.
I very much agree with both of you here. Policing seems to mainly be responding to incidents ‘after the event’, mostly too long after. One almost never sees Police on foot, engaging with people in the community, including groups of for feral youths.
Drug running has become so widespread and youngsters get involved unchecked. I have seen a marked deterioration over the last decade, it’s very upsetting and a very worrying trend.
So he got 12 months in August for fracturing someone’s skull, got out early and is back at it. I’m inclined to question the effectiveness of our justice system!
It would seem he’s born violent, he will never change until he’s too old to attack anyone..
