UPDATED: Response cops, a dog unit and mainland Police descended on the Green Lane area of Lake this evening (Tuesday) as part of a continued search for a wanted male.
Several units made speed to the area at around 16:40 and took up position in a number of locations.
Island Echo understands the incident is part of a wide-scale search for a wanted local male. To date, at least 5 helicopter searches have been carried out in The Bay area in a bid to locate and detain the man following ‘threats to kill’ made a couple of weeks ago.
Officers have now left the area but it is understood the search continues.
It remains unclear why Hampshire Constabulary have not issued an appeal to seek the assistance of the public in identifying the whereabouts of the individual.
UPDATE WEDNESDAY – Hampshire Constabulary have confirmed that yesterday’s search was in relation to the ongoing hunt for a wanted person – as suspected by Island Echo.
Despite yet another search, the suspect was not located.
Police are still yet to issue a public appeal.
