UPDATED: Emergency services are attending a road traffic collision between a motorcycle and a car on Sandown Road, Bembridge this evening (Saturday).
The incident has occurred close to Bembridge Airport resulting in the road being closed between Yaverland and Hillway Road.
The motorcyclist, who is said to have gone into the side of a Vauxhall Corsa, is thought to be a young male.
Motorists should divert via St Helens until further notice.
UPDATE @ 21:20 – Sandown Road has now re-opened to traffic.
The motorcyclist has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital by Ambulance. His injuries are not life-changing or life-threatening.
