An application for outline planning permission for 70 homes on the outskirts of Ryde has been submitted to the Isle of Wight Council.
Wadham College are looking to build a total of 70 properties on land between Upton Road and Oakwood Road, providing living accommodation for around 160 people with a mixture of 2, 3, 4 and 5 bedroom homes.
Outline permission is sought for not only the properties themselves, but the associated open space and attenuation ponds, parking and formation of vehicular access off Upton Road near to Windmill Close.
A public consultation was held back in June which saw 100 local residents view plans for the development, attracting a mixed response.
Anyone wishing to comment on the plans has until 20th November. You can comment here.
