Police, HM Coastguard and Freshwater Independent Lifeboat have all been involved in an overnight search for a missing person in the West Wight.
Coastguard Rescue Teams from Ventnor and The Needles were tasked at just gone 02:00 this morning (Sunday) to assist Hampshire Constabulary in locating a high-risk missing person.
Teams on the ground were joined in the search by volunteer crewman on board Freshwater Lifeboat, who have spent over 3 hours scouring the West Wight with a number of areas cleared.
The search efforts have now been stood down with Coastguard officers returning to station at 05:55.
It is unclear if the missing person – or misper – has been located by Police yet.
