An onboard communications system issue has forced a number of Red Funnel cancellations this morning (Sunday).
The 11:00 vehicle crossing sailing from Southampton to East Cowes and the 12:30 from East Cowes to Southampton have been cancelled as a result of the issue.
These terminations follow the cancellation of 4 vehicle ferry crossings earlier this morning and 3 yesterday (Saturday).
Red Funnel have apologised for the inconvenience caused. A timescale as to when the issue will be resolved hasn’t yet been given.

If it meant they couldn’t deafen the entire town with their PA announcements, then not all bad news.
Dread Funnel are ridiculous. I used them after avoiding them for a decade last month, and I won’t be using them again. Utter chaos.
I’m sure they are devastated
If they can’t manage their tanoy how can they manage their safe navigation ???
Wow! Is this actually a serious question?
Ferry prices are ridiculous here. Cheaper to go to Europe than cross the small journey to our own mainland. For the service we receive it’s despicable by all accounts. Thieves really
Maybe it wasn’t profitable enough to run some of the crossings today as not fully booked so thought I know let’s give the people some cock and bull excuse it’s worked many times before
An unorganised lousy service
Amazes me how critical all the experts become towards cross solent services, the MCA states that they cant run passenger services without on board communication, not surprising really. I will be sure to inform the MCA that they should check with IE comments next time something adverse happens. Why do you always think something sinister is happening in the background
