3 fire appliances have been mobilised to GKN Aerospace in East Cowes this afternoon (Thursday), but crews have not found any signs of fire.
Alarms at the Falcon Yard site were activated at around 13:30, with suggestions that a fire had developed in the autoclaves – an industrial oven used to cure products.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service has crews from East Cowes, Newport and Ryde on scene.
Investigations are continuing but no immediate firefighting action has been required.
