Several cannabis items were seized following a raid at a shop in Newport earlier this week (Tuesday).
At around 14:00 on 14th October Police attended the ‘Private Shop’ on Pyle Street, Newport, following reports of potential drugs offences.
Plain clothed and uniformed officers were seen entering the premises and leaving with evidence.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that a number of cannabis items were seized.
No arrests have been made at this time. Enquiries are ongoing.
It makes one wonder how many shops are a front
for other sinister activities!

Do some shop owners ever look at their own shop fronts? Looks grubby, poorly maintained and scruffy. There’s so many like this on the Island, usually with disgustingly decrepit canopies from the 70s. Laughable if it wasn’t a business who hopes we’ll spend our hard earned cash there. No chance. If you can’t even present your “front door” well, goodness what your products/food/service is like. No excuses.
