29-year-old Daniel O’Reilly has this week been charged with the offence of sending a communication conveying a threatening message, which led to a Police incident at Cross Lane in Newport on Sunday.
As first reported by Island Echo, local response cops, an Armed Response team and a dog unit descended on Russell House near Staplers Road on Sunday night. It’s at the address where they arrested 1 male.
The following morning Hampshire Constabulary confirmed that a 29-year-old male had been arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill. However, Mr O’Reilly has since been charged with sending a letter/communication/article conveying a threatening message.
He will appear before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on 30th October.
