A new pharmacy is set to open at East Cowes Medical Centre on the Isle of Wight.
Operating from the East Cowes Medical Centre building – located next to Waitrose – the unit was previously home to Jhoots.
The unit has been vacant since January when Jhoots Pharmacy entered administration with the administrator’s statement outlining £19m debt. Jhoots had over 100 stores nationwide.
Staff who were previously left unpaid following the closure of Jhoots East Cowes branch have been paid their missing wages.
National chain Allied Pharmacies was established in 2005 as a pharmacy chain based on partnerships with local pharmacists.
Island Echo understands that Allied Pharmacy is set to open shortly after Easter after work inside the premises is completed. No official opening day has yet been given.

I would like to point out not all jhoots staff have been paid as stated ,there are loads of us still waiting after 8 months
