A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital with minor injuries following a collision on a main route out of Newport this afternoon (Thursday).
Police were called at around 16:30 to reports of a collision on Racecourse.
Multiple ambulances were dispatched to the scene, joining a Roads Policing Officer on scene.
At the scene a motorcycle and a Kia collided with one another.
Traffic on Racecourse was heavy whilst the incident was dealt with, delays in the area were compounded by roadworks on the nearby Fairlee Road.
The incident has since been cleared, with the involved bike moved to the Circus Field access road.
Southern Vectis route 5 and 9 buses are currently diverting.
This bike was being driven erratically through Ryde yesterday afternoon. Skinny young male riding it.
There are too many bikes riding around the island
erratically.
The island needs more traffic Police.
To many cars driving erratic as well in fact probably moreover!!!!
