A crash between a car and motorcycle at Blackwater is causing significant delays heading in and out of Newport this morning (Friday).
Police, paramedics and firefighters are all on scene at the junction of Blackwater Road and Blackwater Hollow, having been alerted to the smash at 08:55.
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service has deployed an ambulance crew, critical care paramedic and an officer to the incident.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service has mobilised a single appliance from Newport in the interests of scene safety.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
UPDATE @ 09:38 – The incident has now been cleared, with traffic returning to normal levels.
Surely not more speeding on island roads!
Well, if we’re jumping to conclusions here, let’s just say it was more than likely caused by a motorist pulling out without looking properly……
You may be correct, but if not travelling too fast
could use brakes to Stop.
