A motorcyclist is being checked over by paramedics following a road traffic incident near Tesco in Ryde.
Police and paramedics are currently in attendance off Brading Road, where a motorcyclist is being assessed by the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
It doesn’t appear that any other vehicles have been involved. It’s thought the situation is medical related.
Southern Vectis is advising that buses are currently unable to serve the Tesco Extra stop. The nearest stop is opposite Busy Bee.
UPDATE @ 09:20 – The road has re-opened and the motorcycle has been moved to the side of the road.
Pramedics are still carrying out their assessments at the roadside, but have moved to allow the road to re-open. Police also remain on scene.
Southern Vectis buses are returning to normal.
UPDATE – It has been confirmed that a man in his 70s has been taken to hospital for treatment following a single vehicle collision.
I hope the motorcyclist will be ok…
I am just bewildered by the huge amount of Motorcycles tearing all over the Island in groups. Unless Dave Deaths has sold out of its complete stock I have to think that we have groups of Motorcyclists from over the water, in which case where are they all staying when everywhere is supposed to be closed for a few more weeks?
They ride too fast.
I am certain people do not understand that there is a speed limit.
Over the water…. Haven’t heard that for a while along with Dayn Kays, Up Newport and Ayt Freshwawder.
If you recall, Small lived over the water.
He was a bad man unlike Woodford who was an honest newspaper seller.
We do have motorcyclists here you know .we have several large clubs .
Why do they have to off comeu from the mainland a lot of bikers/scooterists do not ride in winter months if they have another mode of transport but the nice weather we all like to get our scooters /Harley-Davidson/etc etc out and dust of the cobwebs . Personally I stick to all the speed limits and yet cars still overtake me so if I’m going at the correct speed how fast must the idiot in the car be going so who cause the crash !!!
So basically a 70 yo man fell off of his scooter!
