UPDATED: Police have closed the main road through Brading this evening (Friday) following a road traffic collision between a motorcycle and a pick up.
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are in attendance on New Road as a result of the smash, which occurred just before 21:40.
The road that connects Brading and Sandown has been closed in both directions between The Mall and Yarbridge Cross.
Southern Vectis Route 3 buses are now on diversion via Bembridge and St Helens until further notice.
UPDATE @ 22:33 – The road remains closed tonight as Police await a condition update on the rider of the motorcycle, who has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital.
UPDATE @ 01:28 – New Road has now re-opened in both directions.
A 33-year-old man from Shanklin has sustained a serious but not life-threatening injury.
