Morrisons has launched a fleet of electric home delivery vans on the Isle of Wight, making all its local grocery deliveries electric for the first time.
The new vehicles are expected to save more than 300 tonnes of CO2 emissions over their lifetime, as part of the company’s ongoing efforts to cut its carbon footprint and support the local community.
Customers across the Island can now have their groceries delivered by one of the new electric vans, with Morrisons saying the move will help create a cleaner and greener delivery service for Isle of Wight households.
A spokesperson for Morrisons has said:
“We’re proud to launch a fully electric home delivery fleet on the Isle of Wight.
“These vehicles will save over 300 tonnes of CO2 emissions in their lifetime, helping us to support the local community and the island.”

Any interesting facts about them?
what range have they got on a normal charge?
What kind of battery technology have they been fitted with?
Yes, they cost a lot of money. Range about 300kM and have to be charged up at Asda bcause they don’t have anywhere onsite to charge them.Fitted with around 8k AA cells.
