Emergency services have been called to a road traffic collision on The Middle Road near Chessell this morning (Christmas Day).
Island Echo readers have said that a vehicle has overturned along a section of road between Chessell Woodyard and Westover Farm.
The road has been blocked and closed between Shalcombe and The Sun Inn as a result of the incident.
Police officers are on scene.
Motorists are advised to divert locally.
Emergency service crews have also been called to a car that overturned near Apse Heath this morning, as well as a vehicle that has also overturned on Hallets Shute.
Gritters were out and about across the Isle of Wight last night with the IW Met Service also advising of the risk of black ice.
