We would like to wish all of our readers, advertisers and supporters a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year!
2018 has been yet another busy year for us, publishing no fewer than 3,400 articles since 1st January – that’s an average of around 65 Isle of Wight news stories delivered to you each and every week for free. The busiest month in Island Echo’s history was October this year when a whopping 345 articles were published in just 31 days.
Between Friday 21st December and Wednesday 2nd January you will see less news from us than normal. However, rest assured that should a breaking news incident occur we will of course be first to bring you all the latest information.
Our 24 hour news service will resume fully on 2nd January 2019. The month of January will see some changes to Island Echo with new features and approaches introduced, with some longer term plans also coming to fruition in the first quarter of the year.
Emails and social networks will be lightly monitored throughout our reduced service period. Voicemails can be left on 01983 898288 but you are advised to email [email protected] instead.
Don’t forget you can follow our Light up the Wight Christmas Lights tour map and vote for your favourite display until 2nd January at www.islandecho.co.uk/xmas.
Have an enjoyable Christmas and please remember… Don’t drink and drive.
