A man who fell overboard from the Wightlink ferry as it pulled out of Portsmouth Harbour last week has been named as 58-year-old Alan Stafford.
Mr Stafford, of Craneswater Park in Southsea, was found near Haslar Marina on Monday – 5 days after a major search and rescue operation was launched to find him.
Coastguard teams, lifeboats and Wightlink’s own rescue boat were all involved in last Wednesday’s search when passengers on board St Celica reported a man going over the side.
A page of remembrance for the BAE Systems worker has been set up at https://remembr.com/algie.stafford.
