UPDATED: 50-year-old Timothy Clark has been charged with possessing a shotgun without a certificate and for possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence following an incident in Ventnor on Wednesday.
As first reported by Island Echo, Armed Police were called to The Burlington Hotel on Bellevue Road resulting in the road being closed. Later, officers entered the hotel and arrested a man on suspicion of firearm-related offences.
Hampshire Constabulary have today (Friday) confirmed that Timothy Clark, 50, of Bellevue Road, Ventnor has been charged with affray, possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and possession of a shotgun without a certificate.
He remains in Police custody and is due to appear at Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court later on today.
UPDATE @ 14:34 – Following an appearence before the Isle of Wight Magistrate’s Court, Timothy Clark has been remanded in custody until 20th March when he will appear before the Isle of Wight Crown Court.
Clark pleaded guilty to possession of a shotgun without a certificate, however he did not enter a plea for the other 2 charges.
