This is your weekly round-up of some of the latest court cases heard at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court.

Monday 31st January – Friday 4th February 2022
• Keenan Bradbury, 25, of School Lane in Newport, pleaded guilty to 2 charges of using threatening/abusive/insulting words or behaviour to cause harassment/alarm/distress, 2 charges of theft from a shop and 1 charge of obstructing/resisting a constable in the execution of their duty. He was sentenced to 1 month in prison.
• Jonathan James Weaver, 38, of Sandown Bay Holiday Centre, Yaverland pleaded guilty to assault, assault by beating, criminal damage. He was given a 12-month community order with 40 hours of unpaid work and a requirement of 32 days participation in a Building Better Relationships programme. He was also ordered to pay £100 compensation, £85 costs and a £95 surcharge.
• Edward Mathias Lale, 29, of Quarry Road in Ryde, admitted breaching a community order. The community order was revoked and resentenced for 18 months with 240 hours of unpaid work and 15 rehabilitation days. Lale was also ordered to pay £60 costs.
• Beau Henry Brown, 30, of Hill Lane in Freshwater, admitted breaching the requirements of a community order. The order was varied to include 80 hours of unpaid work – an additional 20 on the previous sentence.
• Steven Tunney, 47, of St James’ Street in Newport, pleaded guilty to 2 charges of assault by beating. He was made subject to a 12-month community order with 20 rehabilitation days attached. He was also ordered to pay a £100 fine, £200 compensation, £85 costs and a £95 surcharge.
• Mark Cording, 43, of Atherley Road in Shanklin, pleaded guilty to theft from a shop. He was made subject to a 12-month community order with 20 rehabilitation days and a requirement to participate in an alcohol treatment programme for 6 months. Cording was ordered to pay £19 compensation and a £95 surcharge.
• Luke Fauvel, 37, of Howard House on Barton Road in Newport, pleaded guilty to theft from a shop, possession of a Class A drug and possession of a Class B drug. He was given an 8-week sentence, suspended for 12 months and ordered to pay £370 compensation, to be paid in £20 instalments.
• Adam Churches, 38, of West Hill Road in Ryde, pleaded guilty to harassment without violence. He was made subject to an 18-month community order with 60 hours of unpaid work and 25 rehabilitation days attached. He was ordered to pay £85 costs with a £95 surcharge.
• Harry Woodman, 32, of Waverley Park in East Cowes, pleaded guilty to drink driving (149 in blood). He was disqualified from driving for 38 months, fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £34 surcharge.
These men should know better, look at their ages? Disgusting behaviour by all of you. Did I miss something or did they all get off Scot free?? No wonder they commit crimes they are laughing at the law?

BAC limit is 80mg/100ml so he was <twice the limit. (Breath limit is 35ug/100ml.)

‘Building Better Relationships programme’ What the hell is this new scheme about??? Yet another excuse for the guilty to get ‘help’ rather than punishment!! Did his victims get any help or were they just put on a waiting list because those who try and aid victims are so busy, underfunded and understaffed?
