This is your weekly round-up of some of the latest court cases heard at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court.

Monday 22nd September – Friday 26th September 2025
• Steven Tuckey, 45, of Hill Rise Avenue, Ryde – found guilty of stalking a police officer by sending abusive emails and publicly naming him, and also found guilty of damaging a police station door. He was sentenced to 4 months in prison, suspended for 12 months, with £650 costs.
• Lee Millington, 36, of Oak Vale, Oakfield, Ryde – pleaded guilty to driving with cannabis, benzoylecgonine, and cocaine in his system, using a vehicle without insurance, and assaulting a woman by beating. He was given a community order until March 2027 with 20 rehabilitation days, disqualified from driving for 3 years, fined £200, and ordered to pay £100 costs. His driving record was endorsed.
• Joshua Rousseau, 28, of Collards Close, Freshwater – pleaded guilty to being in charge of a vehicle while over the drug-drive limit for cannabis. He was fined £108, received 10 penalty points, and was ordered to pay £200 costs.
• John Duckworth, 51, of Fellowship House, Green Street, Ryde – admitted five counts of shop theft involving clothing and alcohol totalling over £350, and failing to surrender to court bail. He was given a community order until September 2026 with 15 rehabilitation days and ordered to pay £331.99 in compensation.
• Lee Lawrence, 40, of Godric Road, Newport – pleaded guilty to drug-driving and using a vehicle without insurance. He was fined £300, disqualified for 12 months, and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £120 surcharge.
• Emily Barter, 29, of Upper Yarborough Road, East Cowes – admitted two breaches of a non-molestation order by sending abusive messages and repeatedly calling the protected person. She was fined £100, ordered to pay £85 costs and a £114 surcharge, and given a community order until September 2026 with 15 rehabilitation days.
• Jamie Plaxton, 36, of Albany, Parkhurst Road, Newport – admitted assaulting two prison officers by beating them while in custody. He was jailed for 20 weeks, with the sentence uplifted due to the victims being emergency workers and the violent nature of the incidents.
• Craig Monk, 28, of Dover Street, Ryde – admitted possessing cocaine and damaging a bar pump and window worth £130. He was fined £120 for the drugs offence, with the cocaine ordered to be destroyed, and ordered to pay £130 compensation and £85 costs for the damage.
