Firefighters from Ventnor and Shanklin have been called out to a large house in Bonchurch tonight (Tuesday).
2 appliances are currently on scene at The Pitts off Bonchurch Shute.
The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to a developing situation at a residential address at around 23:00.
A small of amount of smoke can be seen issuing from the property, but the situation appears to be under control.
UPDATE – The homeowner has thanked the fire service for their prompt response, which she says undoubtedly saved the property.
A fire broke out in the roof, causing a small amount of damage.
