Smoke caused by children playing with bangers prompted a call out for the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service earlier this afternoon (Friday).
2 appliances from Freshwater and Ryde were mobilised to Quay Street in Yarmouth at just before 13:00 following the activation of a fire alarm.
However, firefighters soon discovered that the alarm had been set off accidentally as a result of bangers being let off.
The crews have since stood down and returned to station.
