A car has crashed into a sign post on Whitepit Lane in Newport this morning (Friday), resulting in the closure of the road.
A black Jaguar has come to an abrupt stop after crashing head on into a no entry sign at the roundabout junction with Watergate Road.
The incident occurred at around 09:30.
Island Echo is told an arrest has been made.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area for the time being with Whitepit Lane – a one way road – closed.
