Not to mention how many households are claiming
a 25% Council tax reduction because they live alone.
That old baloney
As I understand the system, changes to a property do not result in a re-assessment of Council Tax rate but rather can trigger a review of the band the next time the property is sold. If such reviews are not taking place when they should, that is a matter for the County Council. If you disagree with the system, you would need to made representations to your MP to seek to have this area of the law amended.
