Isle of Wight man Ken Ford has been named Volunteer Police Cadet Leader of the Year 2024 in the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary.
The annual Citizens in Policing Awards celebrate the exceptional efforts and achievements of those who dedicate their personal time to volunteer in various roles with Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary.
Ken joined the Isle of Wight Cadet Unit nearly 3 years ago and in that time, he has become a respected and valued leader.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary have said:
“He is a role model for all our young people consistently presenting the fundamental values of the Constabulary, and reinforcing these with the cadets to support their development into well rounded young people.
“A passionate advocate for the Cadet Programme, Ken actively promotes awareness of the unit in a variety of settings. His dedication even extends to his work with the NHS, where he has created opportunities for the cadets to engage and support local events.
“Whether it’s a formal ceremony or a community event, he’s always ready to represent and champion the cadets. His pride in being a cadet leader shines through in everything he does and we couldn’t be more grateful to have him on the team.”
