Isle of Wight band The Optimists have been announced as a support act for American Pie star Thomas Nicholas at a UK show next month.
The Island rock group will open proceedings when Thomas Nicholas and his band take to the stage at The 1865 in Southampton on Wednesday 1st April.
Best known for his role as Kevin Meyers in the American Pie films, Thomas has also appeared in Grey’s Anatomy, Baywatch and Halloween: Resurrection.
The Optimists are one of 2 support acts confirmed for the evening, alongside Southampton pop-punk band Royals.
The show will mark the band’s first performance with new bassist Isaac ‘Waz’ Wells.
Speaking ahead of the gig, frontman Matt Read said:
“We’re really excited to be supporting Thomas Nicholas at The 1865. We’ll be playing some new songs and we can’t wait!”
The upcoming performance comes as the band prepare to release new music, with further live dates already lined up.
Later in April, The Optimists will perform at The Spice of Life in London as part of a concert organised by HOT VOX.
The band previously won the Wight Noize competition and have gone on to support Happy Mondays icon Bez, as well as perform at Victorious Festival in Southsea.

Good luck. They’re a great band. Saw them at Strings. Hopefully they’ll make it big.
