GRITTERS TO BE DEPLOYED OVERNIGHT WITH SNOW SHOWERS EXPECTED ON TUESDAY

Gritters will be treating the Island’s road network tomorrow morning (Tuesday) as forecasters predict a bitterly cold day, with the potential for snow showers in the afternoon.

Island Roads say that their fleet of gritting vehicles will be deployed overnight with the first gritters leaving Stag Lane at 04:00.

Local forecasters IW Met Service state that the day will start bright but cold with a frost and ice risk between 06:00 and 10:00. The cloud will then start to move in with a scattering of soft hail or snow showers during the afternoon. Don’t get too excited though… only a brief dusting is expected.
