Island Roads will be deploying its fleet of gritters once again during the early hours of tomorrow morning (Thursday).
Sub-zero temperatures forecast for the Isle of Wight overnight means the decision has been taken to send the gritters out across the Island’s road network.
Motorists are being urged to take care on the roads and remember that ice can still form on roads that have been treated.
To find a list of all the Island's gritting routes, you can visit our dedicated Isle of Wight Gritting Routes & Winter Maintenance page.

Personally I blame Brexit, immigrants, the poor, the stupid, the middle class, people with social anxiety, drug addicts, alcoholics, twitter users and people with an IQ under 165.
Anyone I’ve missed?
If nobody drove cars, motorbikes, buses, vans, lorries etc – the roads wouldn’t need gritting in the first place

Can’t believe the standard of English in this country, people don’t know when to use ‘their’ or ‘there.’ Absolutely disgusting.

I think schools stopped teaching that about 30 years ago
Not only the standard of English but can’t even get their facts straight! Pointless post.
If our island wasn’t overpopulated with well below average IQ residents they wouldn’t need to grit.
No, it can’t be possible. There must be endless burning sunshine on the isle.
People will have to put their shorts and sandals away for a day.
I thought that the island Sun God had been sufficiently provoked into banishing Winter here.
