There’s even more exciting land based action available for Cowes Week 2015 as recreational tree climbing experts Goodleaf join forces with Northwood House to offer sailors and land lubbers alike the chance to climb a majestic oak tree in historic Northwood Park.
Goodleaf will be on hand to instruct adventurers of all ages to ascend into the canopy using rope and harness. With great views of the Solent and the racing from the top of the tree, tree climbing with will enable participants to the ideal location to spot their favourite sailing team, or for simply just enjoying time in the canopy – a place few are lucky enough to visit. And if there’s no wind and no racing? Tree climbing is the perfect alternative action adventure for crews and their families.
Darren Cool, Events Manager at Northwood House and Park says:
“We are really thrilled that Goodleaf will be in the park for two days during Cowes Week 2015. The turkey oak they have chosen as their climbing tree is a stunning specimen over 25m high, with impressive views down over the Solent and the yachting action – what a treat for anyone climbing to the top! This will be a great opportunity for sailing crews to come along and try their hand at something a little different.”
Paul McCathie from Goodleaf is delighted:
“It’s a real privilege to be invited to climb in Northwood Park’s amazing tree – it’s an absolutely stunning oak. We can’t wait to welcome tree climbers into its wonderful canopy.”
Tree Climbing takes place Sunday 9th August 2015 and Friday 14th August 2015 from 12:00-18:00.
Sessions are 1 hour long and cost £15pp. Sessions can be booked via Goodleaf’s website, or simply turn up and climb (subject to availability). Tree climbers must be aged 8 and over.
