The Isle of Wight Youth Trust has received a defibrillator with funds donated by Glanvilles Damant and Good Skills Training.
After providing some workplace first aid training for the Youth Trust staff, Barry from Good Skills Training wanted to learn more about the Youth Trust and share his support by donating towards the defibrillator and Glanville’s Damant, who chose the Isle of Wight Youth Trust as their charity of the year, decided to top up the donation.
Jo Dare, CEO of the Isle of Wight Youth Trust, says:
“We are thrilled to have been shown the support and generosity from Glanville’s Damant and Good Skills Training to be able to supply the defibrillator to our staff, clients, visitors and local community.
“Training for all our staff will soon be available on how to use the defibrillator. Through this act, we can make a positive change to our local community.”
Barry from Good Skills Training adds:
“The reason is to support the local community I live in and the youth trust is an extremely important part of our community, so to donate towards a defib to enable them to have access to life saving equipment if needed was all the inspiration we needed to donate!”
Cat Kureen, business manager at Glanvilles Damant, has said:
“We were delighted to contribute towards the defibrillator which has been installed at the Isle of Wight Youth Trust. It is so important that when a medical emergency arises and time is of the essence that defibrillators are easily accessible and readily available, giving the patient the greatest chance of a positive outcome.”
The portable defibrillator will be held at the Youth Trusts main office at 114 Pyle Street, Newport, and will be accessible not only to staff and visitors but also the public and local businesses between 08:30-18.30 on a Monday to Thursday and 08:30-16.30 on a Friday.
Much needed since the recent medical procedures.
Well done Glanvilles.
