A teenage girl has admitted a string of violent offences – including threatening a nurse with a knife and attacking police officers.
The 16-year-old girl from Newport, who can’t be identified for legal reasons, appeared at Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on Friday (29th July).
She pleaded guilty to a total of 17 crimes committed between 21st July and 25th July this year. The most serious is a charge of threatening a mental health nurse with a knife in a private place and assaulting her.
The teen also admitted 6 other assaults on emergency workers – namely Police officers – and an assault on a male in Morrisons supermarket in South Street.
Further offences include criminal damage to vehicles in Newport. As well as the vehicles, she damaged a Matalan shop window, youth service door and plant pots.
The teenager will be sentenced at the same court on 31st August. She was remanded into youth detention accommodation until her next appearance.
The bench ordered an all-options pre-sentence report to be prepared ahead of sentencing.
