UPDATED: Firefighters are tackling a garden fire at a bungalow in Binstead this morning (Thursday).
2 appliances from Ryde were mobilised to the scene at the junction of Parkway and Coniston Avenue at just gone 08:30.
Crews are using a hose reel to bring the fire under control.
Police are also attending the incident.
UPDATE @ 09:50 – The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service have extinguished the fire and both Ryde crews are now preparing to return to station.
The incident has been handed over to Police, who are investigating the circumstances of this morning’s fire and whether or not it was set alight on purpose.
It has been confirmed to Island Echo that the fire broke out in the rear garden and has caused some minor damage to the plastic fascia of the bungalow.
No one has been injured.
