UPDATED: The Cowes Floating Bridge is once again out of service after running aground at East Cowes.
The troubled vessel was pulled from operation at around 15:00 when the tide fell, leaving Floating Bridge No. 6 high and dry.
Although foot passengers are now crossing the River Medina via the replacement shuttle, they had a 50 minute wait whilst the temporary service was put into action.
The Isle of Wight Council say the floating bridge will be out of service until at least 18:00.
UPDATE @ 17:58 – The Isle of Wight Council say that the service will now remain suspended until around 20:00 tonight.
UPDATE @ 19:33 – The Cowes Floating abridge is now back in action… but for how long is the question.
