UPDATED: Firefighters from the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service and Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service have been called to reports of a fire at Rookley County Park this evening (Wednesday).
Fire appliances were called to the scene at around 20:00, including a mainland appliance that has been stationed at Newport on standby while island fire crews tackled the Undercliff blaze.
UPDATE – It has been confirmed that a cooker fire prompted the response.
The incident has been brought to a close.
