The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are attending a diesel spill from a car at Wootton Bridge this evening (Saturday).
The incident, involving an Audi, has taken place on the eastbound side of the road between the bridge and the junction with Barge Lane.
1 fire appliance from Ryde has responded to the scene and the single crew are using an Environment Agency Oil Spill Kit to soak up the fuel from the carriageway.
The call came in shortly before 19:00.
The road remains open in both directions.
