Firefighters from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service have been in attendance at a small garden fire this evening (Friday).
1 appliance from Newport was called to Clifford Street – near to the town’s High Street – shortly after 21:00.
Island Echo understands that a fence fire in the property’s rear garden was extinguished.
The single wholetime crew have now stood down and returned to station.
