UPDATED: The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are in attendance at Ryde Pier this evening (Friday).
2 appliances and the service’s Land Rover have been mobilised to the historic structure at the Esplanade, although there appears to be no sign of fire.
A number of firefighhters have made their way up the structure to the ‘wet end’ with the Light 4×4 Vehicle.
Crews were alerted at around 19:40.
UPDATE @ 20:10 – Fire crews have now been stood down from the incident and are returning to station.
Ryde Pier and Wightlink services are operating as normal.
