Firefighters were called to a kitchen fire in Newport this afternoon (Monday).
2 pumping appliances from Newport were called to the scene on Manor Crescent in Pan Estate at around 12:56.
Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used a single hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze which Island Echo understands broke out in the kitchen of the residential property as a result of an item being left on the hob.
Another pumping appliance from East Cowes was called to the scene however they were stood down en-route.
All other appliances left the scene by 13:30.
More old farts no doubt. Probably fell asleep on chair.And left his dinner in oven.
A chip Pan fire no doubt!
