Firefighters from Freshwater, Newport and Yarmouth spent around an hour tackling a double caravan fire in the West Wight last night (Thursday).
Crews were called to Tapnell Farm off of the Middle Road near Freshwater just before 21:45 after receiving reports of two caravans ablaze from an Island Echo reader who dialed 999.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using hose reels tackled the flames and successfully extinguished the blaze.
The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service’s Water Tender from Freshwater Fire Station was requested to provide additional water due to the remote location of the incident.
No one was injured in the fire and crews left the scene at 23:00.
