EMERGENCY SERVICES RESPOND TO ASHEY CRASH


UPDATED: Multiple fire appliances, Police and ambulance crews are attending a road traffic collision involving 2 vehicles on the outskirts of Ryde this afternoon (Sunday).

The incident has taken place on Ashey Road where the carriageway narrows outside Hazelgrove Farm.

2 fire appliances – 1 from Ryde and 1 from Newport – were mobilised to the scene at around 15:15.

Paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are currently checking over the occupants of the vehicles involved, but no one is thought to be seriously injured.

The road has re-opened in the past few minutes having been initially closed in both directions.

UPDATE @ 16:39 – It has been confirmed that the incident has involved a car and a tractor unit.

Emergency services have now stood down from the incident.

No one is thought to have been taken to hospital.
