Police are hunting for 2 men who are accused of sexually assaulting a woman in her 20s whilst she was enjoying a walk on the outskirts of Newport on Wednesday evening.
The incident is said to have occurred at around 19:00 on 15th April on the cyclepath between Seaclose Park and Island Harbour.
The victim was enjoying daily exercise when she was approached by 2 men on bicycles. 1 of the men is alleged to have held her back before she was subjected to a sexual assault. It is said that at least 1 of the 2 men exposed themselves.
The suspects are described as both being white, aged in their mid-20s with local accents. They sped off from the scene on their push bikes.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary has told Island Echo:
“We are investigating after it was reported that between 6.45pm and 7pm on Wednesday 15 April, a woman was sexually assaulted by two men on a cycle path near to Island Harbour.
“The investigation remains ongoing at this time and officers have been conducting enquiries in the area.
“If you have any information relating to this incident, please call 101 quoting 44200133793”.

Police are not currently investigating any other similar incidents reported to have taken place recently, or in connection with this specific incident.

These two need more than just a mini sentence, a social report and to have to sign the offenders act.
The male members of this poor girls family and friends should have a private word later. Gender change is not so uncommon as it once was, they may then see what it is like to be a frightened woman themselves. As the NHS is very busy, perhaps the rellies and friends could assist for free.
These two need to be caught, very dangerous individuals for sure..
