Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall has officially named Red Jet 7 at a special ceremony in Cowes this afternoon (Tuesday).

Crowds of people gathered to witness the historic moment when Camilla took to a pontoon at Trinity Landing to name the brand new, hi-speed vessel.

Children from Northwood Primary, Lanesend Primary and Gurnard Primary schools were lucky enoughh to meet The Duchess as she walked to the Royal Yacht Squadron.

The weather could not have been better with bright sunshine and blue skies making for a perfect backdrop to the celebrations.

The £7million ship follows in the footsteps of Red Jet 6, which was named by HRH The Princess Royal in July 2016.

Red Jet 7 entered the water for the first time on 6th June at Wight Shipyard Co in East Cowes and has now successfully completed her sea trials and MCA certification.
